WHEN COPPERAS HIGH School kicked a field goal to take a 41-38 lead with one second remaining on Friday night, they probably thought they’d done enough to win their shootout with A & M Consolidated.

However, their attempt to ice the game with a squib kick (where the ball bounces along the ground) backfired when A & M produced a series of rugby style passes before returning it 50 yards for the game winning score.

The entire play took nearly 30 second, almost unheard of in American football, and offers definitive proof that clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
